Visit the homes that are on your shortlist. Make an appointment and ask to be shown around the premises. Take the opportunity to talk to the employees.

The level of cleanliness, smells and food presentation are also useful indicators of the quality of a home. Ask yourself does the place available meet my needs and budget? Is the home close to family and friends? Does the home offer a varied range of activities, events and catering?

The day of the move

Being well prepared is essential to ensure that your move into your new home is stress-free and smooth. Choose comfortable clothing and shoes for a firm grip. Make sure you have adequate lighting, especially in stairwells, basements and the attic. Clarify all details with the removal company and have provisions ready as required. Report any damage or losses to the transport manager immediately and complete the inventory forms for both the old and new accommodation with the landlords. Remember to hand in all the keys to the old apartment. Careful planning will ensure your move runs smoothly and stress-free.
